This page explains what I do with your data when you join my mailing list to get a free story or my news.

2. What data I collect and why
I collect your name and email address through the forms on this website. I use them to send you the free story you asked for and, with your consent, to email you now and then with my news (new books, offers, launch alerts). I do not make automated decisions or build profiles about you.
3. Legal basis
I process your data because you allow me to: by ticking the box on the form you give your consent (Article 6.1(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. Withdrawing does not affect what was done before.
4. How long I keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. After that I only keep what is strictly necessary, blocked from use, for the legal periods in which liability may arise.
5. Who else has access
I do not share your data with third parties unless the law requires it. To run the service I use two providers who act on my behalf: MailerLite, which manages the list and sends the emails, and Webempresa, which hosts the website. If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it must do so with the safeguards that the GDPR requires.
6. Your rights
You can ask me for access to your data, correction or deletion, restriction or objection to processing, and portability. Write to contacto@maralvarez.es saying which right you want to exercise. If you think I have not respected your rights, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the authority in your own country.
7. Cookies
This website only uses the technical cookies it needs to work. I do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
8. Minors
The forms are meant for people aged 14 or over. If you are younger and think you have given me your data, write to me and I will delete it.
9. Changes
If I change this policy, the new version will be published here. Last updated: October 2, 2026.
